Sulphur Bank Mercury Mine

Site characterization support at a former mercury-mining operation now managed as a federal Superfund site. Work centered on systematic grid sampling and handheld XRF scanning to map surface concentrations across the study area.

To make the fieldwork faster and more repeatable, I built a lightweight field-navigation tool that helps the team locate predetermined sample nodes on a sampling grid — reducing the time spent orienting in the field and improving the consistency of where samples are collected.
